Former Inverness Player Don Enjoys Quick Brazilian

FORMER Caley Jags midfielder Don Cowie delighted his former fans in the Highlands yesterday when he played for Scotland against Brazil – for one minute.

28-year-old Cowie was a very late replacement for James Morrison in the national team’s glamour friendly at the Emirates Stadium in London that the Scots lost by the widest 2-0 margin ever witnessed.

But the player, now at English Championship team Watford, is desperate to gain more match minutes in the dark blue.

He told the Press & Journal: "I would rather get some more game time but I am at a stage where it is up to me to get into the squad on a more regular basis.

"Even getting on for any part of the game is a big achievement.

"It is not what you dream of, you dream of maybe being involved and getting some touches of the ball but it was not to be.

"It is up to me to go back to Watford and try to play well and get in the squad and hopefully the minutes will come after that."
