Caley Thistle, unbeaten in 13 league matches, return to the scene of their last defeat to face Partick Thistle.Undefeated since November 28th, Inverness find themselves in second place, just a point behind Dundee, with the best goal difference in the league.

Manager Terry Butcher is pleased with his team's form but is aware that the battle for promotion is only beginning.

"We've reduced the lead to one point, which is nice, but we're still not top," said Butcher.

"We're on a good run and long may that continue but everybody's got to play difficult matches.

"We go to Partick which is a difficult place to get a result from but it's one to look forward to.

"That's what the players are doing, they're relishing every chance now.

"We're still not up there but we're in the mix and we're on the shoulder of the leaders.

"Partick Thistle had a great result against Dunfermline the other night and then there's been all this talk about Ian McCall leaving and then not leaving," he added.

There is also a feeling within the Inverness camp that all the attention focused on rivals Ross County's cup heroics and Dundee's managerial change can only allow them to get on with their business in peace.

Ritchie Foran made an impressive return from suspension on Tuesday night and looks set to lead the Inverness line along with top scorer Adam Rooney.
