Donnie Matheson, of D and E coaches, has made a £1000 donation to Caley Thistle to fund the appeal, while also being willing to pay for manager Terry Butcher's travel costs should he decide to go to Hampden tomorrow to represent Inverness at the Scottish Football Association's fast track tribunal.

"When Donnie, a keen supporter, learned that we had decided to lodge an appeal against the red card, he wanted to be of assistance," said ICT executive chairman Kenny Cameron in the Inverness Courier.

"He contacted me from Lanzarote, where he is currently on holiday, to say he would pay the £1000 fee and would also pay manager Terry Butcher's travel costs to and from Hampden Park for the appeal hearing, including the provision of a driver if required.

"In the current financial environment, football clubs need every penny they can get and it is extremely encouraging that a businessman Like Donnie has come forward in this way.

"He said he was pleased that we were appealing as he shares our view that the decision was harsh. He wanted to make sure the club was not out of pocket in doing so."
